The Soviet government, however, made this village a permanent residence in an effort to reduce the nomadic population. Now oymyakon village has been occupied by about 500 residents. Ironically, the word Oymyakon has the meaning of "water that is not frozen" because not far from the village there are hot springs, but clearly this region is a frozen area with very low temperatures.                                                                     2. Dubbed the "Pole of Cold" The village is located about 750 meters above sea level. The length of time in the day varies from 3 to 21 hours in December. This temperature is the lowest and coldest temperature ever experienced an area inhabited by humans on earth and the lowest temperature in the Northern Hemisphere. No wonder Oymyakon is often dubbed the "Pole of Cold".                                                     3. No plants grow, but no people are malnourished. When charcoal delivery is being disrupted, the power plant will begin to burn wood. When the fuel runs out, the electricity all over the village will die for 5 hours and the pipes freeze and then crack. Not a few buildings that still have toilets on the outside although there are already some modern facilities available in the village. In the area where there are about 500 inhabitants there is only one store that provides the basic needs of the villagers throughout the village. The average locals work as ranchers, hunters, and fish catchers.
     6. It took 3 days to bury the dead, Another problem caused by freezing temperatures is when buried dead bodies. Unlike other countries in general that only takes a minute, in Oymyakon spent about 3 days just to dig a grave. First the soil should be liquefied in order to be excavated, by way of lighting a campfire for several hours. Hot charcoal is then pressed after digging a deep hole. This process is done for several days until the hole is enough to enter the coffin.

And if you come here do not expect your handphones will work because although the signal can reach this village, but your handphone will not be able to work in this cold temperature.
